Daily
Remove uneaten food remains.
Check the feed intake and feed at dusk and during the night.
Change the water.
Check if the birds behave normally.
Check if the aviary is intact and there are no escape possibilities.
At least once a week
Remove the dirty ground cover and clean the aviary thoroughly.
Give new branches if the old ones are dirty.
Check the nails, feathers and general health of the birds.
Monthly
Replace the branches regularly, because parasites can nest in them and worn branches are difficult to clean.
Twice a year
Treat the aviary against parasites such as mites. To do this, you temporarily move the birds to a small cage and empty their permanent residence completely. Use hot water to clean the aviary. Afterwards you disinfect everything well with vinegar or with a 10% javelin solution or a chloramide solution and cold water (100 ml/per 1 L of water). Rinse everything very well and then ventilate for half a day, because javel, but especially vinegar and vinegar vapor are very toxic for birds.
